The Gals and the City smoothie recipe:
Having already tested how this smoothie is made, we at Gals and the City (GATC) come to reveal you our morning secret and delicious recipe. We love chocolate so we made the Lila Pause Smoothie in a healthy edition, full of nutrients that are crucial both for our health and skin as well! We don’t want just to fill our stomach but mainly to boost our body and keep our skin glowing! Moreover, if you are trying to lose weight, this smoothie keeps you full for a long time until your next meal! The only thing to do is to blend your favorite chocolate protein with fruits in a blender. Let’s see the process!
How can I make it?
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 1 scoop of protein (with chocolate flavor)
- 4 – 5 juicy red strawberries
- ½ ripe banana
- Blueberries, black raspberries chia seeds (optionally)
Instructions:
Blend the ingredients all together and enjoy. You can top with a handful of ice for a more summerish edition.
Why is this smoothie so nutritious?
Strawberries are loaded with antioxidants, vitamin C, potassium, folate (vitamin B9), manganese, and fiber while banana is a rich source of carbs, helping you start a full demanding day. Banana is also full of anti-oxidants, several vitamins, and minerals, such as Vitamin C, B6, and potassium. Did you know that a ripe banana is better than an unripe one because it has higher levels of antioxidants and is easier to digest?
Of course, almond milk is a great choice for those who want to lose weight and cut calories with a cup of unsweetened almond milk to contain only 30 – 50 calories. On the contrary, the same cup of whole dairy milk contains 146 calories.
Moreover, almond milk contains high levels of the “beauty vitamin”, Vitamin E, and is also enriched with vitamin D and calcium. Honey is also a rich source of antioxidants and finally, protein promotes the overall body health: muscle strength and recovery, as well as bone and skin health. For the record, people who include an adequate amount of protein in their meal – including protein shakes if they want – tend to limit their food cravings, eat less and balance their daily diet, because protein increases the feelings of fullness. Let Lila pause smoothie be the first small meal of your day!
Blend, enjoy, carpe diem!
