Start your day like a supermodel: Energy-boosting breakfast by Romee Strijd

Start your day like a Victoria’s Secret Angel with a super yummy healthy and full of energy breakfast, getting in Romee’s lifestyle. Romee knows very well how to boost her energy levels keeping her body fit and her diet well balanced, low in calories.  In her YouTube channel, she shares with us the preparation of her first meal of the day. ROMEE’S BREAKY:

Basic ingredients:

  • 40 gr oatmeal
  • Water
  • Half a banana

Toppings:

  • Chia seeds
  • Hennep seeds
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Peanut butter
  • Cinnamon
  • Goji berries
  • Blueberries

Instructions:

  • Start with measuring 40 grams of oats.
“I do 40 grams, sometimes 50 sometimes 60 it really depends”
  • Mash half a banana in a bowl with a fork. You can also mash a whole one; it just depends on how sweet you want it.
  • Take a pot and put the oats & hot water and boil. You can also put almond milk or cow milk, whatever you like. It is important to keep stirring to make it nice and creamy. After a minute or two, you can add the already mashed banana and cook it with the oats. Boil for about 6 minutes ‘till you see your mixture is creamy.
  • When it’s done, put the oatmeal in a bowl.
  • And now it’s time for the toppings. Put them all together on top and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Why?

Oatmeal is really high in fibers offering a lot of good carbs so it keeps you full so long until lunchtime.

“It is just really tasteful like… a little pie, I just love it”.

Blueberries are a rich source of antioxidants, low in calories but high in fiber, vitamin C and K.

Goji berries are a source of protein and antioxidants as well.

Chia seeds are high in omega -3 fatty acids and also keeps you full for a long time – this is what we actually want.

Cinnamon helps to keep your blood sugar control so when you eat it with fruits it really helps.

Peanut butter packs a lot of protein. You can use alternatively almond butter or any other butter you want.

“Breakfast is really important for me because I feel like when I have a good breakfast I just have fuel for the whole day, well not for the whole day, of course, but especially for the beginning of the day”

HER MORNING SECRET:

When she wakes up, she drinks her morning drinkhalf a lemon with a big glass of hot water!

“I always start my day with a hot water with lemon. It has a lot of vitamin C, and it is just really refreshing in the morning”.
